The
2010 Treasure Hunt / Family Fun Day
Sarn Park services was our
starting point for this years treasure hunt organised by
Stuart Powell. There were a few classics and about the same
amount of modern cars - in fact initially the turn out did
not seem too good, but others joined us later on and it
was also apparant that some cars really did contain the
whole family !
The weather was good initially
- some even had their rag tops down ! Once we all left the
navigation instructions directed us to ultimately arrive
at the Museum of Welsh Life in St. Fagans.

Once we got there we were
handed our clues. For a change, all the clues were photographs
which Stuart had taken and we had to simply identify the
locations. Sixteen 'proper' clues and a dummy.
We have been to the museum
many times now, but for once we really were committed to
go in every building and look in every room. So by the time
we had finished we had probably walked a good two or three
miles. Joyce and I gave it an hour or so and then went back
to the car park and had our picnic. Others, went in the
on-site cafe or picnic'd within the grounds. We then continued
after lunch to find the rest of the clues. Apart from the
dummy clue we found them all but one.....

When it came time for the
marking at 3 pm we all met in one of the lecture theatres.
The results were all high scores with three groups finding
all 16 clues. After 2 tie break questions Ian and Mari Thomas
were declared the winners. Alan presented the plaque to
Ian during the following club night......

We cannot mention Richard
Palmers score - but he could be asked to do the next one
;-)
From about midday we were
dodging the occassional bouts of drizzle but the worst of
the rain occured whilst we were indoors, so on balance it
seems we were lucky.
We really enjoyed the day
and wish to thank Stuart for once again organising a great
SWCCC event.
