The 2006 Annual Dinner / Dance

(Held at the Hunters Lodge on 9th December)

The clubs annual dinner / dance was very well attended, though there were some notable abscences due to illness. The staff at the Hunters Lodge did us proud and the meal was excellent !

John James was on form and we were treated to the spectacle of the popular 'SPOTY' awards - this stands for 'Silly Person Of The Year' - the outstanding winner was Pam Edmunds who accepted the honour with great grace.

There were also a few 'poetic ditties' - maybe we should nominate JJ and his helpers for a Booker Prize !

Malcolm Champion was awarded the anthusiast of the year award, though he was unable to attend due to a work commitment abroad. In second place was David Bray and in third place Colin Cronin, for the umpteenth time - always the bridesmaid, never the bride.......

The winner of the clubman of the year was also announced as our Magazine editor Danny Richards.

Danny also awards any non-committee club member who in his opinion has submitted the best magazine article. The recipient this year was Colin McLaren.

Many thanks must go to John and Janet James and other helpers to, that organised and assisted with this popular event in the SWCCC calender.
